In a July 22 article from The New York Times, students who have survived their first year at college share some helpful hints. Here is a sampling:
-Don’t skip classes.
-Take fewer clothes with you. You’ll end up wearing only a few things anyway, and you’ll save on laundry costs and time.
-The MLA Handbook could help you keep away from plagiarism problems.
-Find a person you feel comfortable contacting in each of your classes so you could touch base with him or her if you miss class or an assignment.
-And, remind yourself of the huge drop out rate of college students. Plan not to become one of those numbers!
