Eligibility:
1.) Open to elementary, junior high and high school students.
2.) Must submit an essay of about 1,000 words addressing the topic on the application.
Criteria for Selection: Best essay submitted from the Senior Level (grades 10-12) and from the Junior Level (grades 9 and below)
Amount of Award: First prizes – $1,000 in U.S. Savings Bonds; second prizes, $600 in Savings Bonds; third prizes – $200 in Savings Bonds; and honorable mention – $100 in Savings Bonds.
Application: Entries must be mailed.
