The Erasmus Program was created by the European Union in 1987 and it’s the most famous student exchange program in Europe.
For the students who are not part of the European Union, a second program was created, the Erasmus Mundus, which is open for all international students.
The Erasmus Mundus program is considered by many to be one of the best Master’s scholarships you can access as a student.
It is open for all students, across the entire world, and the scholarship covers plenty of important aspects that you would worry about, such as the tuition fee, the cost of living abroad, and health insurance.
The universities that are part of this program help students deal with visa-related questions or to find housing. The term ‘universities’ is really important in this case because, during the Master’s program that lasts for two years, you can be enrolled in somewhere between 2 and 4 universities.
You can choose to study in Europe, where the program was started, or anywhere else in the world. On top of that, you will get free language courses, in all of the countries that are a part of this program.

The Scholarships
The scholarship you can receive depends a lot on the duration of the studies and on what citizenship you have – for example, EU students will have a lower scholarship compared to those coming from other areas of the globe.
So what does the full-time scholarship cover in this case?
You can rest assured that you will get a monthly allowance, insurance, your participation costs will be covered, just how your travel costs will be covered.
The scholarship will differ based on your level of studies, their duration, and your nationality, as we’ve mentioned.
The Scholarships for Non-EU Students
While an EU student will receive around 23,000 euros as part of the scholarship, if you are not part of the EU, your scholarship can get up to around 48,000 euros for the two years you will be studying abroad, and this will include various costs that you will be glad to hear they are taken care of.
If you have a tuition fee, it will be covered, just like the health insurance or any documents that may be required by the university.
You will receive a living allowance of 1,000 euros per month, every month, for the entire period while you are abroad. When you change your university, you’ll receive an extra 3,000 euros, aside from the usual 1,000 euros.
You also won’t have to worry about various language courses or events, and at the end of your Master’s experience, you will get multiple diplomas from all the universities where you studied.
If you’re thinking, ‘how will you get a head start?’, don’t worry, you will get an initial payment of 2,000 euros to cover your travel and visa expenses.
