Still College Deals Out There

According to the Kiplinger Report there are still dollar deals at private colleges and universities for students and their parents. For example, Kiplinger lists Pomona College as the best value among private colleges and California Institute of Technology as the best value in private universities. Why? It is because for the quality of education these two private institutions are still affordable and provide generous financial aid.

There are more deals. Emory offers a full ride, including room and board, to 86 of its in-coming students. To another 131 students it gives 2/3 tuition cost. Davidson gives $2,000 toward the total cost of attending to 20% if its first-year students. Williams, which usually costs about $48,000 per annum offers enough aid to its students that the average cost ends up being around $16,000, and the average debt of a Williams’ graduate is, on average, less than $10,000. CollegeBasics suggests you look at Kiplinger’s 100 Best Values in Private Colleges and Universities, 2008-2009.
